How to Connect Claude to Instagram
A post drafted every morning, held for your approval by default. An agent holds the Instagram connection; you stay the editor-in-chief.
You can have Claude working with Instagram in about ten minutes, and you don't have to build or babysit an MCP server to get there. The practical route is a middle layer: connect Instagram to myAgents, connect Claude to myAgents, and ask for what you want in plain language. A persistent agent holds the Instagram connection, does the work, and reports back to the chat you already use.
Why not wire Claude straight into Instagram
You can, if you want to run the plumbing: stand up an MCP server, handle OAuth and token refresh, scope the credentials, and keep it all alive. You own the uptime and the security of that bridge forever, and it serves one assistant. That's fine for developers who enjoy the wiring. If you want the outcome, not the infrastructure, give the connection to an agent team instead.
The three-step setup
- Connect Instagram to myAgents. Hire an agent (it takes a couple of minutes), then link Instagram from the Connections page. You choose exactly which agents get access.
- Connect Claude to myAgents. On claude.ai: Settings, then Connectors, then add myAgents as a custom connector and approve it. The full walkthrough covers Claude Desktop, Claude Code, ChatGPT, and Gemini too.
- Ask. From Claude you can check on your team, hand work to an agent, and pull up the results. The agent does the Instagram work on its side; ask Claude to check in and it reads the reply back to you, or open myAgents and see it there.
What your agent can do in Instagram
Connect an Instagram Business or Creator account, directly or through the Facebook Page it's linked to. Posting is agent-drafted and approval-gated by default: the agent prepares the post, and it goes live once you approve it from the Approvals page. If one agent earns your trust, you can grant that agent direct publish as a deliberate standing permission. Either way, the rule is yours to set per agent.
What people actually use it for
A caption drafted daily from what your business actually did. A posting cadence that survives your busy weeks. Draft variations to pick from instead of a blank caption box.
The part a data connector can't do
Most "connect Claude to Instagram" tools are pipes: they move data into a chat while you're sitting there. An agent is staff. It has its own schedule, so the work happens whether or not you opened a chat today, and anything that acts on the outside world runs through permissions you granted on purpose. You get a team that keeps working and a log of everything it did.
Hiring the team takes a couple of minutes and starts with free credits to try it, then from $25 a month. You stay the boss. The busywork stops being yours.
Try it on your own work
Hire your first team in about two minutes. $10 in free credits, no credit card required.
Frequently asked questions
- Can Claude post to Instagram?
- Claude can direct an agent that drafts the post. By default, publishing waits for your approval in myAgents, so nothing reaches your feed without a human sign-off. Direct publish exists only as a standing permission you grant a specific agent on purpose.
- Which Instagram accounts work?
- Business and Creator accounts, connected directly or through the linked Facebook Page if that's how your account is managed.
- Why is there an approval step?
- Because your feed is your brand. Drafting is the agent's job; judgment is yours. The default approval step is what makes handing over the drafting safe, and you can relax it per agent once one earns it.
